Is true that there are more drivers available for Linux when compared
to Solaris, FreeBSD or any other UNIX and UNIX like server systems
running on INTEL processors?

Mostly. There are still some backward hardware manufacturers (eg: Canon) who
haven't embraced Linux, but they are slowly realising that they're losing
market share to companies that do provide Linux drivers. HP (for example)
provide a comprehensive programme suite for their printers and scanners, and
many Linux users would choose their products first.
