My main box's fan started to go noisy so then I noticed that
on the spare-box kde-3 shows [I think it was] "Window" on the
top menu, also when displaying VT's.

So I [stupidly] clicked-around to see how to toggle this
feature which I NEED for the other box.

Then I wasted 15 minutes to try to restore it again.

How do I activate the drop-down-menu to switch to another
desktop/task ?

Please !

== TIA.

If you by "top menu"(?) means the panel then theres a applet named "Window
Menu List". Right click the panel and choose "Add Applet to Panel" and
scroll down.

This area is designed to become quite warm during normal operation.
