Hello there,

I use Slack 12.1 with a recompiled kernel (2.6.24-7) on a Gigabyte
"GA-8I915P dual graphic" motherboard.

ACPI is enabled in the kernel and the thermal module load correctly at
startup.
With dmesg, anything look normal (except that he dont speak about
thermal zone...).
ACPID is also running.

The /proc/acpi/thermal-zone directory stay empty....

I see that in /var/log/system :

PCI quirk: region 0400-047f claimed by ICH6 ACPI/GPIO/TCO

but I am not shure that this is related to my problem...

Have anybody a way to solve the problem ?

Thanks.

Philippe

I'd guess that the mboard doesn't support thermal zones, or at least

make the info available via ACPI. My 2 laptops both show thermal zone
info, but my server doesn't, using the same kernels and software.
