I've been using Acronis Disk Director regularly for eight months.
It's the easiest disk manager I've used for making backup hidden
copies of Windows XP. When copying to a smaller space on the hard
drive, by default it knows enough to shrink the source partition (if
possible). I have had one insignificant problem, the disk manager
fails to perform tasks on the reboot when a USB flash drive is
inserted (but that doesn't matter here). A disk manager is a power
tool. It can do great stuff, but it can be hazardous in the hands of
someone who doesn't at least know enough to regularly copy important
files to removable media. Like other technical products, it might
also be blamed for problems that are actually the user/reviewer's
fault.
