I have been very disappointed by lyx-1.6.0 as it seemingly misses some features (and files):
- no icons for the toolbars
- no config files for displaying lyx files as dvi, postscript or pdf
- no conversion files
Did I miss something, or v.1.6.0 has still to be completed ?
What's your experience ? As for me, as I use lyx on a daily basis, I had to switch back to v.-1.5.6

there must be something wrong with your instalation.
does tools->reconfigure help?
