Is it possible to setup alpha linux with software raid? The reason I ask
is, sometime ago I attempted it and all it did was complain about how it
wasn't compatible with BSD slices and the like. No matter what I did, I
couldn't get the bugger up and running. WillieG

I'm not at all sure, but I'm guessing it would be tricky. AIUI the trick

would have to involve marking the partitions with a RAID partition type,
and I'm not sure that plays well on Alpha (given the oddities we have to
go through for boot sectors et al).

More likely to work for a data (virtual) drive than a boot drive I'd
imagine.

That is how I did it. My boot drive is BSD labeled and data raid drives are
not BSD labeled.

Good luck

Yes; as easy as on any other arch. Debian was easiest to me.

BSD slices has nothing to do with RAID.
